Jessica Curran specializes in teaching Graphic Design & Communications courses within the Visual Art & Design Department at Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her passion lies in Graphic Communications and the technical side of the graphic design world. This includes software applications like Photoshop and InDesign, running printing presses, cost estimating for print production, etc... She LOVES all things G-COM!
Jessica has a Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design, a Masters of Science in Graphic Communications – Technology Management, and a Masters of Fine Art in Media Design.
She has been teaching for over 11 years… the last 7 at Salt Lake Community College as an Associate Professor. Before moving to Utah in 2011, she lived in Burlington, New Jersey and worked as an adjunct instructor at Kean University, Ocean Community College, Gloucester Community College and Camden Community College. And before teaching… Jessica worked in print estimating and prepress for several years.
Jessica’s impressive experience has been instrumental in building a successful program for her students, colleagues, department, school and college. Her students see her not only as an instructor but a supportive mentor and friend. Her fellow instructors are in awe of her tireless pursuit of cutting edge technology and enthusiastic promotion of the Graphic Design & Communications area.
However, despite Jessica’s love of technology she never seems able to keep her phone charged. Good luck calling her!
Despite the tremendous amount of time devoted to teaching, Jessica is not all work and no play! She is a HUGE Philly sports fan. She loves the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers! Since moving to Utah she’s become a Real Salt Lake season ticket holder.
Jessica is a world traveler, hikes & bikes, enjoys outdoor concerts, rescues cats, is more than generous with invitations for pizza and drinks, and loves a good “cuppa” coffee!
We cannot help but wonder what the future holds for Jessica Curran. It will most certainly be action packed as she is not one to sit still!
Congratulations… and… You Go – Jessica!
